"Pretty Girl Rock" singer Keri Hilson has had enough of people attacking her online; Rihanna had a few choice words for Jackie magazine, and more this week in Urban Pop/R&B. Now that the week is technically over, sans Saturday, see some of the week's top stories (below) including new music from Luke James, Lloyd, Trey Songz, Beyonce, and X Factor Top 12 finalist Astro.
- Grammy Award nominated talent Keri Hilson is tired of "computer-gangstas" attacking her online via Twitter and other social media platforms. Breaking her silence Thursday, Hilson claims to find the actions of those people funny. In so many words, Hilson is not taking comments about her career and long discussed and alleged "beef with Beyonce" seriously. Here is what she had to say in full : "For all the hatred I encounter on twitter, it's funny that I nvr encounter it in real life. Computer-gangstas are an interesting phenomenon. but who in the world wakes up first thing in the morning with so much anger in their hearts? Or is it sadness? Anyway, I hope they don't stop entertaining me. I get so many giggles frm their ignorance. Do they really think they're hurting my feelings?"
- Rihanna vs. Jackie Magazine: In the event you missed this earlier this week, Rihanna was the subject of an article in Jackie, a Dutch publication. What was said was no laughing matter however, as "The Talk That Talk" diva was called a "Ni**aB***h" among other things. As you guessed it, Rihanna responded quite well (see: Rihanna blasts magazine over 'disrespectful, desperate' use of n-word).
- R. Kelly has 32 additional 'Trapped In The Closet' ideas in mind. The question is, will you listen to or better yet pay to hear them ?
- In other R. Kelly news, the Grammy Award winner performed with X Factor USA winner Melanie Amaro this week, following throat surgery. He sounds better than ever !
- Speaking of X Factor, Stevie Wonder has given Justin Bieber his stamp of approval calling him "incredible" on the show's season finale.
- Trey Songz and Jeezy appeared in Lloyd's new music video for "Be The One".
- Tamar Braxton is not only recording an album but, will star in a spin-off of Braxton Family Values next year. No more "doo-wop-pop-popping" for her.
- Speaking of families, Beyonce's parents Mathew and Tina Knowles are officially divorced. In other Beyonce news, the "4" singer dropped a music video for "I Care" this week.
- Monica returned to the studio earlier this week too, recording new music with Diane Warren. Her label mate, Mario, teased his mixtape "Truth Be Told" with snippets of a few songs. The mixtape precedes his forthcoming album "Restoration," also due next year.
- Speaking of 2012, Robin Thicke has joined the line up for Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve. He, along with Beyonce, will ring in the New Year December 31 on ABC.
- As a parting gift, X Factor finalist Astro and R&B singer/songwriter Luke James released mixtapes this week, with the operative word being free. You can download them now: (Astro, "Loser") (Luke James, "#Luke").
Happy Holidays !
