Jagged Edge is back and so is their tenor vocals and rugged image. The Atlanta-based R&B male group is creating hope and making moves in 2014.

Twins Brandon and Brian Casey, Richard Wingo, and Kyle Norman are elevating to another level with their latest single, new album, and record label collaboration. At LeParc Hotel in West Hollywood, we discussed the groups’ plans for this year and upcoming events.

Jagged Edge, JE for short, released their song “Hope” on May 30th, right before June’s Black Music Month. The single “Hope” is dedicated to single mothers around the world.

Brian Casey emphasizes the importance of this record, “We know enough of them. When we got the real statistics, it’s alarming.”

“Hope” will be featured on their upcoming album dropping September 30th. The project, J.E. Heartbreak Too, is a sequel to the Multi-Platinum J.E. Heartbreak released in 2000 and produced by So So Def CEO Jermaine Dupri.

“We’re excited. This is what we came to do, to be a household name,” states Richard Wingo when asked about the future album. JE is promised to return with the same thug passion and soothing melodies.

Jagged Edge busy schedule also consists of a joint record deal with So So Def Recordings, Hard Case Records, and BMG Primary Wave Artists Services.

The group members share their excitement about the label and vision behind Hard Case Records. “This is our new joint venture with So So Def. It’s our label and we now have the outlet to put out other artists,” shares Wingo.

Besides promoting JE Heartbreak Too, the group has appeared at the summer’s hottest concerts and music festivals. This weekend, HOT 92.3 presented HOT Summer Nights featuring Jagged Edge, Blackstreet, K-CI and JoJo, After 7, Shai and Next, at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.

Last night, Jagged Edge also performed at the Essence Festival in New Orleans, LA. Catch them in concert as they spread love and hope across the crowd.
