The QVC charity fundraiser Super Saturday, which is dubbed “the Rolls Royce of garage sales," will be back in the Hamptons for its 18th year on July 26, 2014! QVC began broadcasting from the exclusive Super Saturday sale in 2006 to help bring the fun and excitement of the event to more than 100 million U.S. households. This special event offers half-priced designer clothing and accessories, home goods, children’s clothing and toys, pet products, cutting-edge electronics and more from high-end brands with 100% of the proceeds going to ovarian cancer research.

The Hampton's based-event, which expanded to LA for the first time ever this year and raised over half a million for Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, will allow the entire nation to shop designer deals for a cause with its QVC Live broadcast. Fashion designer, stylist, editor and TV personality Joe Zee has a QVC line, which will be sold during the annual Super Saturday LIVE, and he will also be hosting his Stitched Fashion Camp on-site! The pop up of Joe Zee's Children's Fashion Design Camp was founded by Joe and his partner, Rob Younkers to show the creativity behind the next generation of young designers.

Below is a recent interview that Bevs had with Joe:

B: Where were you born, and how many languages do you speak?
J: BORN IN HONG KONG, GREW UP IN TORONTO AND MOVED IN NYC IN 1990. RIGHT NOW I SPEAK ENGLISH AND ENOUGH FRENCH TO GET BY.

B: Approx what age did you find out fashion is your passion, and did your family/loved ones support you at the beginning?
J: I KNEW FROM A VERY EARLY AGE THAT I LOVED FASHION (I WOULD SAY 6?) WHEN I WAS THE ONE WHO ALWAYS WANTED TO GIVE EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY STYLING ADVICE IN TRADE FOR QUARTERS. (SO I COULD MAKE ENOUGH TO BUY FUN ACCESSORIES!)

B: What inspired you to get involved on the Rolls Royce of garage sales and how are you able to sell designer clothing/accessories at such low prices without taking a loss?
J: SUPER SATURDAY BENEFITTING THE OCRF HAS BEEN A STAPLE OF THE HAMPTONS FOR 15 YEARS NOW AND TO BE ABLE TO BE A PART OF IT IN SUCH A BIG WAY IN SUCH AN HONOR. TO BE ABLE TO CONTRIBUTE TO SUCH AN IMPORTANT CAUSE WHILE ALLOWING EVERYONE TO SHOP FOR THINGS THEY LOVE IS A WIN-WIN. THE IDEA THAT DESIGNERS ARE SO HAPPY TO DONATE THEIR ITEMS FOR THIS DESIGNER SALE IS A TESTAMENT TO HOW IMPORTANT THIS EVENT AND CAUSE IS.

B: What types of summer pieces from your QVC line that you recommend women of different body types such as: top heavy (heart shape figure) and bottom heavy (pear shape figure)?
J: THE GREAT THING ABOUT MY COLLECTION FOR QVC (STYLED BY JOE ZEE) IS THAT IT IS THE PERFECT WARDROBE BUILDING STATEMENT PIECES FOR EVERY WOMAN OF EVERY SHAPE. SOME OF MY FAVORITE PIECES THIS SUMMER IS THE BLOUSE WITH THE RUFFLED BOTTOM THAT'S A LITTLE LONGER TO ALLOW FOR COVERAGE BUT WITH A DELICATE RUFFLE, IT ADDS THE PERFECT FASHION STATEMENT. AND I LOVE OUR "LEGGING PANT" WHICH COMBINES THE EASE AND COMFORT OF LEGGINGS BUT IS MORE DRESSED LIKE A PANT, WITH A DETAILED SEAMING THAT MAKES EVERYONE LOOK LEANER AND TALLER. WHO DOESN'T WANT THAT?

B: What are you looking forward to at QVC presents Super Saturday Live?
J: I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO HOSTING THE RED CARPET FOR QVC, SHOPPING, EATING AND MOST OF ALL, BEING ABLE TO DO A POP UP OF THE CHILDREN'S FASHION DESIGN CAMP MY PARTNER, ROB YOUNKERS, AND I FOUNDED AND SHOWING THE CREATIVITY BEHIND THE NEXT GENERATION OF GREAT YOUNG DESIGNERS.

About OCRF:
Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) is the oldest and largest charity in the United States funding ovarian cancer research. Our mission is to fund scientific research that leads to more effective identification, treatment, and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer, as well as related educational and support initiatives. Each year there will be approximately 22,000 new cases of ovarian cancer in the United States, and about 15,500 women will die of the disease. Currently there is no effective means of early detection.
Since 1998, OCRF has awarded 217 grants to scientists at more than 65 leading medical centers in the U.S., an investment of nearly $60 million for ovarian cancer research. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, OCRF-sponsored investigators are developing innovative strategies for early detection; exploring the genetics that increase risk for ovarian cancer; understanding the underlying molecular biology of the disease; identifying new and better targets for treatment; and deciphering how and why ovarian cancer spreads, and how to stop it.
