Top Fuel

· Khalid alBalooshi on leading the points: “This is something new for me; it is the first time I am the points leader, and that is what I thought about when I flew back to Dubai with my trophy after Pomona. I was very excited to be back in Dubai to be able to enjoy the win with my family and friends. I put the trophy in my speed shop. I think this trophy is special because it is the first NHRA Top Fuel trophy that I put in my speed shop. The trophies from my other two wins are in my home in California. I thank everyone on the Al-Anabi team for his help in making this win happen; it was very good for everyone.”

· Shawn Langdon on extracurricular activities: “I am looking forward to representing NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing, Coca-Cola and the Mello Yello brand at the Phoenix Suns game Wednesday night. It will be nice to be able to sign some autographs for some Phoenix Suns fans so that maybe they will come out to Chandler and watch us race this weekend. It’s always fun to watch an NBA game as one of the perks of being a Mello Yello Champion. So it’ll be nice to do that and check out some of the great golf courses in Phoenix and Scottsdale, too.”

· Brittany Force on improving on last season: “We’re ready for Phoenix and I’m stoked to get my Castrol EDGE Dragster qualified in the top half of the field and go some rounds the Sunday. Going into Phoenix, I’ll be doing my same routine and hitting the practice tree to improve my lights. We have some tough competition out there but I’m excited for our next race. I’m confident my guys will figure everything out. Having a whole new team on board, it does take a while to get into a routine, not just me as a driver but everyone working together. It’ll take a few races to get it all figured out.”

Funny Car –

· Robert Hight on the importance of being fast on Friday: “The first run on Friday is critical now. If you stumble coming out of the trailer then you are just playing catch up all weekend. My team is one of the best at being prepared as soon as the car rolls off the hauler. All the JFR teams are more focused because this is a critical time for our team. We are looking for sponsors and the best way to find money is to go rounds and win races.”

· Courtney Force on racing “Dad” at Phoenix: “I've had some memorable rounds in Phoenix and have done well at this track in the past. Racing my dad for the first time ever was definitely a career highlight for me so this track holds a special place in my heart. Having these memories here get me even more excited to head into the race. Knowing we have done well in the past makes me eager to try and do even better this year in my Traxxas Ford Mustang.”

· Alexis deJoria on the new track surface: “Phoenix has a tendency to be a fast track at times. I’m really excited to see how the track is now compared to how it used to be. There used to be some bumps in both lanes and supposedly it’s a much smoother track now. Hopefully that combined with good track conditions will produce some more fast runs for our team.”

Pro Stock –

· Jason Line on racing at Phoenix: “The lanes should be very equal, and that should make for some great racing. The weather is usually good, and that always helps. Anytime you go to a race after just winning one, it’s fun. You know you can do it, and in racing that’s the best feeling you can hope for.”
