Quorn products provide a healthy chicken alternative, low in cholesterol, that vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike can enjoy!

Quorn brand products have been sold in the United States since 2002, but the company has been making mycoprotein foods, which are meat-free and soy-free, since 1985.

Mycoprotein

What is mycoprotein? Mycoprotein is a fungus (i.e. mushroom) full of protein that Quorn uses to make chicken alternatives for vegetarians. Although not organic all Quorn products are made with all-natural and non-GMO ingredients.

Chicken Free Recipe Favorites

You can use Quorn chik'n products in most any recipe that calls for chicken breast. Chik'n Cutlets are great for a barbecue. Just marinate them in your favorite sauce and grill them up. If you've got a craving for a simple chicken broccoli alfredo pasta, just brown up some Chik'n Tenders and toss it all together.

Chik'n tenders are as versatile as diced chicken breast for making dishes ranging from 'chicken' tacos to 'chicken' pot pie.

A delicious suggestions for cooking up Quorn's Chik'n cutlets is to wrap them in a foil pouch with either lemon and pepper or your favorite marinade and bake them in the oven. The cutlet soaks up so much flavor and makes a wonderful meat alternative that non-vegetarians can enjoy it as well.

Is Quorn Vegan?

Unfortunately, due to Quorn's minimal use of egg whites and milk in their products, they are not vegan.

Gluten Free?

Although Quorn does use gluten in many of their products the Chik'n Style Tenders and the Turkey-style roast do no contain gluten. Keep in mind that they are processed in the same facility that makes the products that contain gluten.

A healthy choice for non-vegetarians

Whether you are looking for a way to bring back some of your favorite chicken dishes after choosing a vegetarian lifestyle or trying to eat healthier and lower your cholesterol intake, Quorn may be just what you are looking for.
