Quinnipiac scores late goal to defeat Black Bears

Jordan Samuels-Thomas scored with 1:03 remaining to give the Quinnipiac Bobcats a 2-1 victory over the University of Maine at Hampden, Connecticut on Friday evening.

The teams played a scoreless first period.

Kellen Jones gave the Bobcats a 1-0 lead early in the second period.

Sophomore Devin Shore scored a shorthanded goal for the Black Bears lone score with 10:05 remaining in the second period.

Samuels-Thomas did his dramatics on the Black Bears for the second straight season.

He also scored the game winning goal in a 2-1 Bobcats victory early last season at Alfond Arena.

Michael Garteig recorded 29 saves for the Bobcats.

Quinnipiac (15-3-4) is ranked eighth nationally.

Martin Ouellette recorded 26 saves for the Black Bears.

Maine (10-7-2) will next play at Fenway Park on January 11th, when they take on Boston University.
