April 24-30, 2011….Marks the 20th anniversary of the AQS quilt show here in Paducah, KY. This year there is an exhibit entitled “Celebration” to commemorate the 20 year run and another called “20 quilts for 20 years”.
This website lists all the activities during “Quilt Week”. What’s quilt week? It is a weeklong event where quilters from all over the world descend on the little town of Paducah, KY. They all converge in our little town to discuss quilts, take classes, buy quilt fabric and make new friends.

If you are in or around Paducah during this week and you have any interest in art whatsoever, this show is worthy of your time. You are sure to be blown away by the talent of these ladies (and sometimes gentlemen) and what they can do with fabric, thread and a needle.
Can’t attend? The website has a wealth of information on quilts and news about the upcoming “Quilt Camp” designed for children ages 5-17. There is a beginners program and goes all the way to an advanced child. Scholarships are even available for those that can’t afford the camp.
