Quick McDraw McDud...Xfactor sends Rachel Crow home

An uproar from the Xfactor USA audience shook the stage as the results of the semi-finalist were revealed.  Melanie Amaro, Chris Rene and Josh Krajcik were ushered forth to the final round, leaving Rachel Crow and Marcus Canty to sing their hearts out against each other.

Naturally L.A. Reid voted for Marcus, but admits he was surprised that Rachel wasn't dwarfed by Marcus' rendition of the classic melodramatic Rose Royce, hit "I'm Going Down" also covered by Mary J. Blige.  In fact, Rachel's powerfully soulful ballad rose to the ocassion even as tears cradled the waterline of her eyes, knowing her fate rested in the hands of the judges.

Simon Cowell voted for Rachel, his little bundle of explosive personality, which left the defining moments for the challenge in the hands of Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.   Paula stood firm on her vote for Rachel, but she also had the confidence that she wouldn't be the 'bad guy' of the competition as the final voted rested in Nicole's hands.

Nicole appeared shaken, trembling as if she was in fear of something ominous and unable to speak.  When she did respond, her barely audible, choke-filled answer brought a Deadlock into play.  A Deadlock for  Xfactor USA is similar to a draw except it takes the executive decision out of the judges hands. The competitors stance, now relies on the votes tallied from the TV audience.

Great move on Nicole's part?  Could her jerk-filled empathatic 'non-decision' be a reaction to the rumored death threats she's received?

Unfortunately, Rachel Crow received the least amount of votes and upon hearing that her time on the Xfactor stage was over, she fell to her knees and cried.  For such a young lady, this teenager handled the pressure better than some of the adults.  Well, at least she handled it better than Nicole who, when asked if she had anything to say after the decision had been made, shied away from the microphone as a trail of disappointed fans' heckling followed into a dark corner of the stage.
