March 1 is National Peanut Butter Lovers' Day. Peanut butter is nutritious, delicious, and can please even the pickiest eater of any age. It's also a very versatile ingredient, and many recipes using peanut butter are quick and easy to prepare.

Here are a few quick and tasty snack ideas. These snacks are popular with kids but are also good for adults looking for a healthier snack alternative. Included in the list is a must-have treat for any Memphian or Elvis fan!

Ants on a Log

One celery stalk

About 1 tablespoon of your favorite peanut butter

A few raisins or currants

Make sure the celery stalk is clean and dry. Trim it to about 3" - 4" in length; you can usually get two to three good snack-sized pieces from one regular celery stalk. Fill the center of the celery with peanut butter and top with raisins or currants.

Peanut Butter Banana Boat

1 medium banana

About 2 tablespoons of your favorite peanut butter

Peel banana and cut into two pieces (horizontally, not lengthwise). Cut a V-section out of the middle of the banana (see pictures in slideshow). Fill the cutout-V with peanut butter and enjoy! Serves 2.

Peanut Butter & Banana Sandwich (Elvis's favorite!)

2 slices bread

1 medium banana, sliced

Your favorite peanut butter

Spread the desired amount of peanut butter on bread. Top with banana slices. Close sandwich and enjoy! You can also make a grilled version of this sandwich for an extra-tasty treat.  Elvis fans can enjoy this sandwich the next time they visit Graceland at Rockabilly's Diner. Graceland is open year-round from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily, except Tuesdays. For more information, including ticket prices and their full schedule, please visit their website.
