Questions to ask Dr. Eugene White, Superintendent of Indianapolis Public Schools

Dr. Eugene White, Superintendent of Indianapolis Public Schools, returned a phone call regarding his side of the story concerning the censorship of Pagan/Wiccan and Atheistic websites. Since he left no other message on the machine regarding his side of the story, a return phone call was made. However, he was unavailable to speak at the time.

Since leaving a message with his secretary, a set of questions have been written regarding this situation for when [if] he returns the call. The questions considered are below; if you would like a question that is not mentioned below to be asked or feel that a question should be edited or deleted altogether, please send an email to amybeth70@gmail.com with your suggestion.

Q. Are you aware of an article that both Trina Hoaks, the Atheism Examiner, and I, the Indianapolis Pagan Issues Examiner, wrote regarding your district's apparent censorship of web content that promotes or provides information about 'atheistic views', as well as Wicca, Witchcraft, voodoo rituals or any other form of mysticism even though this policy does not prohibit or even mention religious views such as Christianity?

Q. Are you aware that it is unlawful because it violates the Free Speech Clause as unconstitutional viewpoint discrimination?

Q. What do you say when people state that this policy also violates the Establishment Clause because blocking access to 'Atheist views' as well as Wiccan/Pagan views shows a preference of one religion over either non-religion or other religions, is not allowed according to the Constitution of the United States?

Q. Why have you chosen to not allow any Wiccan/Pagan or Atheistic child to be able to see information about their own religion?

Q. Do you also block other religions that are not Christian such as Judaism, Buddhism, Taoism, etc.?

Q. Have you educated yourself in what Wicca is and what Wiccan's practice?

Q. While Wiccans do have rituals and will pray to celebrate holidays, help others, as well as themselves, are you aware that they don't perform spells that would go against someone's will and they don't actually perform any curses?

Q. Did you know that when a Christian prays for something, that is considered an incantation to influence real events?

Q. Are you aware of Wiccan policy that states, "An it harm none, do what ye will"?

Q. Do you have any other comments regarding the letter from the Freedom From Religion Foundation concerning this subject?
