Questions and answers with Adventure Club at Coachella

Adventure Club at Coachella
Adventure Club at Coachella

Weekend 2 of Coachella is rapidly approaching. In fact, tomorrow begins the desert's most major festival in California and possibly the world. All walks of life flock to Indio to embark on a musical journey and experience the madness of multiple stages with amazing bands, artists and dj's. Weekend 1 at Coachella was something special mainly because it was the kickoff to the festival and everyone who is anyone is there or wanted to be there. Thanks to AXS.Tv, the whole weekend of Coachella was streaming live online. People who could attend turned their house into "Couchella".

One team of dj's that made a major impact during the weekend and are making lots of noise worldwide is Christian and Leighton known as Adventure Club. They showed up the day of their performance, Sunday and spent most of their time interviewing in the trailer along with getting ready for their debut performance they were supposed to give later that night. Adventure Club has become one of my favorite groups in a very short period of time.

I was able to steal a few minutes of Adventure Club's time, while they were getting ready for their epic set in the Sahara Tent. Read what they had to say about their musical relationship, life and how they plan on preparing for their Coachella performance, as well as their next album. Also if you are in the Los Angeles area tonight check out check out a most colorful and sound-orgasmic set from Adventure Club at Club Nokia.

How was Adventure Club created?

We started some form of the group back in Montreal 10 or 12 years ago. We grew up and were introduced through a friend. We both play

What music are you currently influenced by?

Nothing really influenced by in particular. I guess subliminally it sticks in my head. I really like The Civil Wars, Jhene Aiko and the Artic Monkeys new album.

What are you currently working on?

We are putting together our full album. Don't have a set date to finish it, we just want to make sure it's the best it can possibly be.

Maybe we will move to a monastery and leave all cell phones and technology behind for a period of time.

I'm sure you play many festivals all over the world. Is Coachella any different? If so how?

We do play many shows, but this is really the only festival where im feeling nerves. I guess because it is live streamed and we are opening for headliners Duck Sauce in the Sahara Tent before night 2 comes to an end.

Have you been able to check out any shows since you've been at coachella?

No we just arrived today after playing 2 shows out of state this past weekend. We hope to check out The 1975 though.

I might ditch our set a little early to catch Disclosure, so if you see me disappear during the end you will know why.

I heard you have some special guests for your performance. What was it like to collaborate with these artists?

Yes we have a couple special guests. One in particular is Yuna. We remixed a song of hers called 'Lullabies'. From there our managers reached out to her. We love Yuna she is amazing.

What is one goal you hope to accomplish by the end of the year?

I guess it would be to have to album finished by then. It's not set in stone, but it would be nice.
