Is Red Rocks Ampitheatre the best place to see live music in the world? Lots of debates can arise from that simple question.
For one thing, holy awesometown, Josh Homme and his ever changing lineup killed it once again. The acoustics are simply one of a kind and every inch of “The Rocks” you could see, hear and feel the excitement of Queens Of The Stone Age like they were at their home away from home.
Who wouldn’t want to grace the stage at one of the most incredible scenic places for live music and much more. Easily shuffling through tunes from their whole catalog, another brilliant show down in the books. From their self titled album from 98’ to their newly released album Like Clockwork, they covered all the bases they could for the hour and a half set list they gave to the masses. Of course, “we want more” is what you’re left with but then again when you dig something as much as the “QOTSA” doing what they do best, this will always be the case. It might not of been a sellout but by showtime you couldn’t see any room to fit.
Just goes to show that no radio play doesn’t matter to bands that love what they do for a living and show up to prove it every night. Cold rocking the spot again and again as they move onto their next gig. This night, the “Queens” were “Kings” and it was like you were lost in time, possibly in your very own “Stone Age”.
