Pop star Rihanna is being honored and recognized for her “exciting” style. As Today reports on March 24, the “Diamonds” singer has been announced as the 2014 recipient of the CFDA Fashion Icon Awards.

In the midst of her new, budding romance with hip hop star Drake, Rihanna’s risqué outfits and ever-changing hairstyles have caught the attention Steven Kolb, CEO of CFDA who expressed exciting over the selection of Rihanna.

“We are proud to present Rihanna with the CFDA Fashion Icon Award for her impact on the industry as fashion’s most exciting ambassador in recent memory.”

Rihanna joins some great company as the award has previously been presented to Nichole Kidman, Kate Moss and Lady Gaga. Not only has she worn all the top names in fashion, she has posed for Vogue magazine more than once and has her sights set on her own fashion label.

Speaking of Vogue, the singer recently told the magazine that fashion helps her define her identity.

“It’s not all down to my voice. There’s people with way more talent than I when it comes to singing; bigger voices. But people want to know who you are. Fashion is a clear indication, a way to express your attitude, your mood.”

Rihanna has also recently launched her own makeup line. Her MAC Collection hit stores this past fall.
