After the legendary Queen Latifah, who hails from New Jersey, stepped up on the field at MetLife Stadium with the New Jersey Youth Chorus, American soprano Renee Fleming took over, delivering her live version of the national anthem otherwise known as "The Star Spangled Banner."

The celebrated opera star had no difficulty hitting the high notes of this difficult song that can often leave even the most professional artist regretting a missed lyric or a pitch slip.

Indeed, everyone at the stadium took part in these ritualistic singing sessions by standing as the lot anxiously waited for Super Bowl 2014 to begin with the kickoff and before the half-time show. The latter will star Bruno Mars as he takes his place on the field to give it his all as only this Hawaii-born superstar knows how.

Meanwhile, viewers enjoyed Queen Latifah singing "America the Beautiful" and Renee Fleming singing the national anthem, two songs that set the stage for a fine day of football and entertainment on a special occasion when almost everyone is glued to their collective TV sets. Let the game begin.
