‘Quartet’ starts this Friday at The Pageant Theatre

Despite some disruption, a group of retired musicians plan to go forward with celebrating Verdi’s birthday in Dustin Hoffman’s directorial debut, “Quartet,” which opens this Friday, March 15, at The Pageant Theatre.

Showtimes for “Quartet” are 6 and 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, March 16; 3 and 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 17; and 7 p.m. on Monday, March 18; Tuesday, March 19; and Thursday, March 20. The doors will open 30 minutes prior to showtimes.

Admission to The Pageant Theatre is seven dollars for adults; five dollars for children and seniors; five dollars for the Sunday matinee; and three dollars for Cheap Skate Monday.

Cecily (Pauline Collins), Reggie (Billy Connolly), and Reggie (Tom Courtenay) live in a retirement home for musicians. On Oct. 10 of each year, the trio takes part in a concert that celebrates Verdi’s birthday. Jean (Maggie Smith), Reggie’s ex-wife, arrives at the home and disrupts their equilibrium. Still, the show must go on.
