Qualify for WPT events locally

How many times have you watched WPT events on TV, and wondered what it would be like to participate in one of those events?  What if it were as easy as playing in a tournament that is close to home?  Well I may have found an answer in the WPTAPL.

The WPTAPL (World Poker Tour Amateur Poker League) is a free poker league that is played in locations all around the globe and online.  Here locally, there are two locations where you can play in the WPTAPL: Buffalo Wild Wings in Castleton and Buffalo Wild Wings in Fishers.  The Castleton location holds events on Wednesdays, and the Fishers location holds events on Thursdays.

To play in these events, all you need to do is sign up to be a member of WPTAPL for free.  The ultimate goal of a member is to get a chance to play in the WPT Amateur Championship.  The WPTAC is a tournament that gives out over $160,000 in prizes; including seats in WPT events!  To qualify for the WPTAC, a member must either qualify for the Venue Series Championship or the Point Champions Tournament, which you qualify for by playing in tournaments at your local WPTAPL locations.

I will be participating at both the Castleton and Fishers locations, and will give a report back on my experiences next week.  Feel free to come on out to these locations to not only support local poker events, but to potentially start your path to a WPT event!
