Tuesday February 2nd, 2010 – Another good weekend for the top seeded teams. Greece and Canada kept pace with eachother while Chile’s big win over Mali puts them in third place.
Canada 10 – Bosnia 3
Bosnia was no match for Canada and Sita-Taty Matondo on Sunday night. Matondo was able to score six goals versus a usually tough to beat Bosnian side. Bosnia tried to spark things up mid way through the game by changing their goalie but Canada was not to be stopped on this day. Canada will look to keep up with Greece as they head into the final weeks of the competition.
Chile 8 – Mali 3
Chile was in fourth place before the weekend began but they knew a win versus Mali would leapfrog them into third place. Rachid Madkour came into this game with that in mind and with a great performance he was able to guide Chile to a huge 8 – 3 win. Madkour led the scoring by adding three goals and one assist to his resume. Chile are now only three points behind first place Greece with a couple weeks left to go.
Switzerland 6 – Haiti 4
Switzerland and Haiti met this weekend knowing that the winner would inch close to a playoff spot while the loser would suffer a big blow to their playoff hopes. Haiti came out firing on all cylinders. Outshooting Switzerland 26 – 8 they were not able to put enough passed an inspired Swiss goalkeeper Jean Wedner. Switzerland on the other hand were able to score six goals on only eight shots as they move to within two points of the last playoff spot.
Morocco 8 – France 6
Italy 9 – Algeria 4
Greece 6 – DR Congo 3
Sweden 3 – San Marino 2
Next week's premium match
Sunday Feb 7th, 2010 at 7:00pm – Bosnia vs. Morocco
My prediction: Morocco 6 – Bosnia 5
