Steelers vs. Eagles
WR Mike Wallace is a holdout. He is the Steelers best deep threat catching 72 passes for 1193 yards last year.
Handicappers will walk the fine line analyzing whether the tragic death of Eagles head coach Andy Reid’s son Garrett will be a distraction or an emotional rallying cry. Reid has expressed a desire to return to the sidelines for the Thursday night game.
Philadelphia has been practicing together since February with players-only workouts. The underachieving Eagles appeared overwhelmed with new schemes, especially on defense, but have had time to work out all kinks.
Philadelphia is very week at QB after Mike Vick.
Saints vs. Patriots
New Orleans has a game under their belt, but is also dealing with the short week having played Sunday night. New England is minus four key OL from last year leaving Nate Solder as the only healthy veteran protecting all-world Tom Brady.

Buccaneers vs. Dolphins
Miami has a QB battle with two journeymen: David Garrard and Matt Moore. Rookie Ryan Tannehill is the third QB. Garrard has more than 16,000 career yards passing. The younger Moore has 5,137.
Jets vs. Bengals
Jets No. 1 WR Santonio Holmes is doubtful. The rest of the receiving corps has been inconsistent in camp thus far.
Browns vs. Lions
Rookie Brandon Weeden will take over as the No. 1 QB. The battle is for No. 2 with journeyman Colt McCoy and Seneca Wallace.
Detroit is thin at RB as Jahvid Best is out. He averaged an impressive 4.6 yards per carry last year. Mikel Leshoure is questionable.
NY Giants vs. Jacksonville
The Giants were counting heavily on the return of No. 2 CB Terrell Thomas. He re-injured his twice surgically repaired ACL and is out. Though Jacksonville finally signed their first round pick WR Justin Blackmon, he is questionable for Friday. The team’s No. 1 WR Laurent Robinson has been horrible in camp thus far and they have no depth at the position.
Cardinals vs. Chiefs
Three key players who were lost for the year last September will play for KC Friday: S Eric Berry, RB Jamaal Charles, and TE Tony Moeaki. Charles averages crazy 6.1 yards per rush in his career, including 6.9 last year before his season ending injury.
Vikings vs. 49ers
Minnesota’s star RB Adrian Peterson is out.
Saturday, August 11, 2012
Titans vs. Seahawks
Talented but troubled WR Kenny Britt is out for the Titans.
Sunday, August 12, 2012
Cardinals vs. Colts
According to Ivan Hurk of The Canadian Crew, the Colts secondary is the weakest unit in the NFL.
