The flights begin June of 2014 and they will be scheduled four days a week on Boeing 777 aircraft.
“The U.S. is a growing market for us and the addition of Miami as a destination and our membership in the oneworld Alliance opens up a multitude of better routes with the Middle East, East Africa, the Indian Subcontinent, and Western Australia to and from the east coast of the U.S.,” explains Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker.
Miami could be a huge destination for Qatar Airways. Miami is known as a cultural hub and it opens up a plethora pf possibilities for routes to and from the Middle East, East Africa, and even India.
Miami is a major tourist destination for people from all over the world.
Miami is understandably excited to have Qatar Airways coming to town.
“Miami International Airport serves nearly 40 million passengers a year, with approximately 20 million traveling internationally,” adds Miami-Dade Aviation Department Aviation Director Emilio González. “The addition to Qatar Airways’ destinations in the U.S. will help establish Miami as a significant route to the Middle East and beyond. As Qatar Airways’ sixth destination in the U.S. and its only service to the Southeast U.S. and Florida, we look forward to welcoming this game-changing new route for MIA.”
Qatar Airways currently serves with flights to Chicago, Houston, New York, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia will be added in April 2014.
