Python in Bali, Indonesia strangles security guard

A security guard near a luxury hotel in Bali, Indonesia has been killed by a python, according to a CNN report on Saturday.

A man’s dead body was taken to the RSUP Sanglah Denpasar Hospital in Bali on Friday. The death appears to have been attributed to suffocation according to a doctor who spoke to CNN but chose not to be identified. The body of the man has been released to the doctor.

Reportedly, the guard was trying to capture the snake, but obviously failed. Therefore, the python remains out there somewhere.

Another Bali Hyatt Hotel security guard saw the attack which occurred on a roadway outside of the hotel’s property. Bali Hyatt spokesperson Jamie Zimmerman Rothfeld told CNN that the management team and hotel associates of Bali Hyatt express their sincere condolences to the family of the victim of the python attack.

The hotel is under renovation at this time and will remain closed until 2015.
