Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area is not just a "historical site", with 1500 acres and containing 50 miles of trails the outdoor enthusiast will find plenty to occupy themselves. Within its borders are Pyramid and Turkey mountains, featuring waterfalls, wetlands, many glacial erratics dating back to a pre Wisconsin glacier activity and plants considered uncommon to New Jersey. There is even a 160 ton boulder, Tripod Rock, resting on three smaller rocks, within the park considered an energy vortex.

Directions:
From Interstate 287 North
Take Route 287 North to Exit 45 (Wootton Street). Proceed to the stop sign and turn LEFT onto Wootton. Pass under the highway. Go through the light and up the hill to the 4-way stop. Turn RIGHT onto Boonton Ave (County Road 511). After approximately 2 ¾ miles, turn LEFT into Pyramid Mountain entrance.
From Interstate 287 South
Take Route 287 South to Exit 45 (Myrtle Avenue, Boonton). Turn LEFT onto Myrtle Avenue. Go to the second light. Turn RIGHT onto Wootton Street. Go up the hill to the 4-way stop. Turn RIGHT onto Boonton Ave (County Road 511). After approximately 2 ¾ miles, turn LEFT into Pyramid Mountain entrance.
