Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area is not just a "historical site", with 1500 acres and containing 50 miles of trails the outdoor enthusiast will find plenty to occupy themselves.  Within its borders are Pyramid and Turkey mountains, featuring waterfalls, wetlands, many glacial erratics dating back to a pre Wisconsin glacier activity and  plants considered uncommon to New Jersey.  There is even a 160 ton boulder, Tripod Rock, resting on three smaller rocks, within the park considered an energy vortex.

The video below features three of the erratics within the park: Tripod Rock, Bear Rock and Whale Head Rock.

You can even see the Manhattan skyline from here.

This is a no fee park.
