As previously announced, both the splitscreen co-op and mode and the Boss mode are exclusive to the Xbox One and will not be available on the Xbox 360. The splitscreen co-op mode lets you two people choose the plants they wish to play as to defend their garden against wave after wave of Zombies. The stakes are raised every few waves when a slot machine randomly picks Zombie bosses or other items such as Zombie spawning tombstones to appear.
Interestingly, the splitscreen co-op is not limited to just two players as a third player can pickup a tablet to join in via the game's Boss Mode. Similar to Battlefield 4's Commander Mode, the Boss Mode gives a bird's eye view of the battlefield where the player can collect sun, call in artillery strikes like the cherry bomb, or heal fellow players.
The Boss mode will also be available in the online four-player co-op mode as well as the competitive multiplayer mode dubbed Gardens and Graveyards.
Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is due out on Feb. 25 on the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
