The Garden Variety Pack was outed in an early press release preview by AGB and will be available Tuesday, March 18 via Xbox LIVE. The star of the pack is the new Obliteration-like Gnome Bomb mode that challenges both the Plants and Zombies to carry and detonate a Gnome with a bomb strapped on its back to the opposing side's garden or base in an 8 versus 8 battle.

Central to this new mode is the new Chomp Town map that features the same colorful buildings and backalleys as some of the other maps complete with a statue of Crazy Dave riding a Chomper while holding a Sunflower. Why? Because Plants Vs. Zombies.

Team Vanquish can also be played played on Chomp Town map but it doesn't currently sound like the Gardens & Graveyards mode will be available here. Update: Microsoft released a walk-through of the video that we've attached above that confirms that Gnome Town, Team Vanquish and Garden Ops will be playable on the Chomp Town but not Gardens & Graveyards.

The Garden Variety Pack also adds 24 new abilities to the game's eight different classes which breaks down to three new abilities for each class. Examples given include "Sunflower’s Solar Flare Beam, Chomper’s Super Goop which cements zombies in place and the All-Star Zombie’s Ultra Tackle."

There's also some new Pirate Zombies for the Sharkbite Shores and Port Scallywag maps including a variation of the Newspaper Zombie who carries a treasure map instead of a newspaper.

Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare recently received its first balancing patch along with a new mode which alternates between the Gardens & Graveyards and Team Vanquish modes.
