Continued from "Sophia: Heal oil spill by finding balance":
Sophia: Let's think of all those around the world (Ok, so here's me being politically incorrect) eating McDonald's food. Imagine if we now say, "I am going to send love to every single person who is forced to eat McDonald's out of economic circumstance, out of not having the availability of fresh fruits and vegetables and food around them. So every time we think, "Bad!" I want you to send love, to send light, to send healing and trust to everything we judge that is toxic.
MR: It's amazing the change that you feel inside when you have that thought, "I'm going to send love to everyone who has to eat McDonald's," and you suddenly feel motivated to do something about it. It becomes a part of your story.
Sophia: It feels good, and when you feel good as a healer, that's when you do good in the world.
When you feel bad, when you feel there is an injustice and you are yelling out--and of course, we yell out as healers because we feel so much. We feel the pain of the Earth--So when we are speaking from that place, we further intensify that place. Versus, when we feel that injustice and we send love to that place. We begin to speak from a place of love, of trust. And that motivates change. That becomes the thing that ignites change, that feeling of trust.
So let's use the example of cigarette smoking. Feel how we cringe. Those who are on a green path, we cringe every time we see someone smoking a cigarette. Imagine, instead of cringing, we say, "Oh goodness, that is my signal to send that person love." So imagine sending love to every cigarette smoker.
The reason they smoke cigarettes is because they have toxic thoughts, so the cigarettes match their toxic thoughts. So when they are smoking a cigarette, it says, "I am smoking a cigarette because I have had toxic thoughts in the last hour, and this cigarette reflects toxic thoughts, and it relaxes me so I can feel beyond toxic thoughts.
So you match toxic with toxic, which allows them to relax for a moment. There is a 3-D, an action that matches this spinning of the mind, so they relax. Now, as they are smoking, they are in this relaxed state.
They're going to feel this what we call frequency of love coming their way. And you will actually begin noticing, and I will ask everyone to try this: You will begin noticing that they put their cigarette out halfway through. Because now they have received the love that they are really looking for.
The cigarette is only representing, "I need an action to match my crazy thoughts. I want to be out of my crazy thoughts; I want better thoughts." Now you've sent them better thoughts, so they've put down that toxic action.
It's so powerful, and we forget, as healers, we have a lot of power. Love is always felt. Trust is always felt on some level. And there is usually some tangible response that you can actually see if you practice.
So here is the exercise: practice sending good thoughts to all those who smoke cigarettes. Actually, when you see it: "There's someone smoking a cigarette. I'm sending love to your heart, love to your heart." The more you practice, the more you're going to notice people putting down those cigarettes, and you will feel so powerful. You will start sharing with other healers, "Oh my God! My sister smokes, and I sent her love, and all of a sudden, in the last two months, she has cut down from a half a pack to 3 cigarettes a day."
All of a sudden, you realize that as a person, you ignited that change by doing something locally. As we do something locally, over and over and over again, that's when all of us doing something locally takes on a global effect.
As those who are concerned with the green movement, we are so concerned with the global movement. I'm going to ask each and every one of you to be that global movement locally. Share yourself locally with your friends, with your families in a way that just shares your happiness, your joy to be green. When you share that joy, joy is infectious. People can't help moving in that direction, because everyone just wants to feel joy.
MR: So we can actually turn around the public perspective of the green movement into something fun, and something that feels good, and feels like love.
Sophia: Exactly, so just from this conversation, imagine now a green movement, let's say, gathering where instead of standing up and speaking about how it's good for us to eat organic, you have a festival where it's about eating organic for the day and giving people a little sheet that they walk away with saying, "How did you feel (the next day)? Imagine what are the effects of this lovely cooked meal we gave you today."
So you're giving people an experience, versus lecturing them. All of the sudden, it changes the way that we approach the world. We say, "How do we go out and hand out natural bars of soap and say, actually, take your bar of soap that is manufactured and has lots of chemicals in it. Spend a week using that soap, a week using this soap, and see: is there a difference?"
You ask people, "Be the testing realm. Don't take my word for it. Go home and test it." You would laugh at how much people would go, "Wow, in the shower, I am noticing such a big difference in how I open-- I breathe more. That I feel this soap, and somehow, I'm connected to this soap."
You will laugh that people actually have an innate connection to that which is natural, because your body is natural.
MR: And everyone will notice that they have this.
Sophia: Everyone has this skill. You just have to give people the opportunity to open up that skill in a way that lets them do it in their time, in their way. So something as simple as giving people two bars of soap and saying, "Take them home and see if you notice a difference." All of a sudden, they feel empowered. Well first of all, they've gotten two free bars of soap. Secondly, you've given them an opportunity to have an experience.
MR: You've given them something they can touch.
Sophia: Touch. Feel. Because yes, we all think of course we want to be healthy. We think those thoughts. Yet without the experience of feeling what it's like to be healthy, then we don't know how to pursue it. It's just an idea. So to the green movement: I'm gonna say, get people in movement. Move people. Get people to take action, that's why you're called the green movement. Part of you is trying to remember that movement is the key. Moving people, allowing people to have experiences.
MR: Yes, it's like moving water is cleaner than stagnant water.
Sophia: Exactly. When we are moving. So you give people the opportunity to have the experience of something green, of something clean. So now we begin to see, "Ah! Now I see the new approach." Because lecturing doesn't work. It just doesn't. Let's feel how much lecturing has been going on for a long time, and people can't hear lecturing anymore.
Why the green movement feels a little stuck is, people can't listen anymore. There's so much to listen to. There's so many, let's say, radio frequencies open. If you would just look at the cell phones, all of the different sharing of information. There's so much to listen to that your message doesn't get across anymore. We need to give people experiences, because the experiences are what people are craving.
