Putin to fulfill Bible prophecy with Ukraine actions

Is Vladimir Putin Gog and is he preparing to expand Magog as written in Ezekiel 38? Russia failing to withdraw from the Ukraine will answer that question.

In Ezekiel we see a description of a powerful nation, Russia, known as Magog in ancient times, extending its reach into neighboring countries. Iran, Eastern Europe, Northern Africa, are all mentioned as partnering with or coming under the control of Russia.

Ancient historians Hesiod and Herodotus both refer to the lands of Magog as those of the Scythians, today the Ukraine through the northern Russia borders.

At the head of this gathering of lands is Gog of Magog. He is called the head or ruler of the Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, today these lands are part of Russia. Currently the ruler of these lands is Vladimir Putin.

According to scripture, this group will expand its coverage as they eventually make their way towards invading northern Israel. First Gog needs to gather his allies and resources.

In Ezekiel a time-line is put forward. We see the people of Israel gather after being spread to the four corners of the Earth when the temple was destroyed in 70 A.D., called the Diaspora. The Diaspora came to a close when the nation of Israel was reborn in 1947 and her people began to return from all over the world.

As the verses go on we see Israel come of age as she is tested by many nations. Since rebirth, Israel has faced many challenges to its authority.

Ezekiel describes the invasion of nations coming from the north, near the Caucus regions. It is said to take place before the tribulation period. We are told Gog comes in to take Israel for her resources, for his lands are becoming barren while Israel is fertile.

God states when this event is over all the heathen will know his name, "Ezekiel 39:6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the Lord. 7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. ”

We are told to watch for these things to fall into place as proof the prophetic word of God, the birth of Israel being the trigger of the time-line.

In the above video, Dr. Chuck Missler gives a lecture on Ezekiel 38, the nations involved and the attempted invasion of Israel by Gog and Magog. We are not at the invasion stage yet, but are the forces beginning to gather?
