A zip line is a contraption, usually pulleys suspended on a cable, mounted on an incline that allows the user to attach or be attached and allow gravity to carry person from Point A to Point B.
When Lindsey and Jason Mellicke, owners of Rogue Valley Zipline in Gold Hill, Oregon were in Maui on vacation, they discovered the zip line. After some trepidation, Lindsey decided she really wanted a zip line of her how. Luckily, they had 83 acres in the area around Gold Hill that was suited perfectly for the zip line. On a clear day the view is spectacular reaching the Table Rocks, Crater Lake Rim, Mt. McLaughlin and Mt. Thielson
Any number can be included with your party by advance arrangement. A shuttle picks up riders at Laurel Hill Golf Course off I-5 at exit 40. There are always special packages that can be arranged that include lunch. The favorite Zip, Dip and Sip tour is a whirlwind day starting at Del Rio vineyards where guests are picked up by the Zip Line Shuttle taken on the breathtaking zip line tour with 5 zip lines, provided a box lunch from Pony Espresso in Jacksonville. Then Rogue Rafting Company takes over with a seven mile rafting trip that lasts about 3 hours on the Rogue River. The guests are then delivered back to Del Rio Vineyards where the winding down can begin over the excellent Del Rio wines.
The weather plays a role in the scheduling and the length of the tours. Participants need to weigh at least 70 pounds, be 8 years old and in case of the wine tasting, 21 or over. People with disabilities are not excluded. The staff and guides at Rogue Valley zip lines are very accommodating and take extra effort to see that everyone can enjoy this incredible tour.
