You may not know the name, but you certainly have seen at least one of his designs. The white, one-shouldered gown worn by Michelle Obama at the President's Inaugural Ball in 2009 was one of Jason Wu's creations.
A former Narciso Rodriguez intern, Jason Wu launched his eponymous line in 2006 and quickly became a favorite of starlets who appreciated his signature brand of fuss-free elegance. From full-length gowns to more casual daywear, Wu’s pieces have clean, classic lines and incorporate bright colors and prints without being flashy. The result is modern and wearable but not always priced for the working girl's budget. (Wu designs can reach as high as the 5 digit range.)
The designer has now partnered with Target to create a fun, feminine and modern collection "inspired by the vision of an American girl in Paris," with a nod to the 60s. The limited-edition line of women's apparel, handbags and scarves is reasonably priced — from $19.99 to $59.99 — with all new and original designs.
So if you want to add a little "Wu" to your wardrobe for a great price, mark your calendar and set your alarm to arrive at your Tampa Bay Target bright and early on February 5th!
