Terrence Thornton better known by his stage persona Pusha T, is a native of Bronx, NY. Pusha T has been in the hip hop game for 10 plus years and as a result he has had his share of ups and downs. On October 8, 2013, Pusha T will step to the plate and re-introduction himself to the hip hop world with his first solo project entitled “My Name Is My Name.”
Early Career to Present
In 1997, under the direction of super-producer Pharrell Williams, Pusha T made a name for himself as part of the hip hop duo Clipse, which consisted of him and his brother Gene "No Malice" Thornton. Although the duo experienced short lived success, the duo crafted the hip hop classics "Grindin," "Mr. Me Too," Kinda Like a Big Deal," among others. In 2009, the duo decided to take a break and pursue individual projects. In 2010, Pusha T signed to Def Jam via fellow hip hop artist Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music imprint. Over the past few years, Pusha T has experienced a sustained level of success, which is the result of his many widely-acclaimed mixtapes, his collaborations with his G.O.O.D. Music family on the 2012 release of Cruel Summer, among his many other features.
My Name Is My Name
As previously mentioned Pusha T’s new album My Name Is My Name will hit stores this upcoming Tuesday October 8, 2013. MNIMN is a feature heavy album, which is to be expected from an artist who releases their debut album.
