Purr by Katy Perry has launched

Purr by Katy Perry is the singer’s first foray into the fragrance world. Katy Perry first announced that Purr would launch in mid-November back in July. On November 12, 2010 Purr by Katy Perry officially launched at Selfridges in London, England. Purr by Katy Perry is bottled in a purple kitty bottle which is unique and cute.

Purr by Katy Perry has arrived on store shelves at Nordstrom Valley Fair and Nordstrom Palo Alto just in time for the holiday shopping season. Although the fragrance notes lend best towards a mild climate, Purr by Katy Perry can easily be worn during warm or cool weather.

Top Notes: apple, peach, bamboo

Middle Notes: jasmine, freesia, Bulgarian rose, orchid

Base Notes: vanilla, white amber, sandalwood, musk

Katy Perry’s Purr starts off with the fruity scent of peach backed by slight florals. After about fifteen minutes, jasmine and rose take center stage and hit a high note. At the end of the day, Purr by Katy Perry leaves you with a smooth vanilla musk backed by a woody undertone. Purr by Katy Perry is one of the few celebrity fragrances that changes during the fragrance experience and combines commercial notes such as jasmine and vanilla with the unique zing of bamboo.

Purr by Katy Perry is a fruity floral that is casual and playful. Purr by Katy Perry can easily be worn during warm or cool weather and would make a good gift this holiday season for the Katy Perry fan. Purr by Katy Perry is also appropriate for teens or adults since the musk is soft and the fruity notes are sweet.

Purr by Katy Perry can be found at Nordstrom Valley and Nordstrom Palo Alto. The 1.7 oz bottle is $45 and the 3.4 oz is $65.

Hi, Cathy - great review of this new fragrance although it sounds like it's a little heavy for my taste. I would love to find a woman's fragrance that is just very clean and fresh smelling, like fresh-cut grass, bamboo, very light citrus, fresh rain or ocean. Do you know of any perfumes like that? I don't like heavy florals or musky scents on me, although they smell good on other people :-)

    Hi Margie,

Thank you! For lighter fragrance options, you might want to try out Mayssa which is a light floral with citrus and greens that can be worn daily

Jo Malone Orange Blossom is a light citrus that is really nice in warm weather.

Let me know what you think!
