FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.
COLUMBUS, OH (June 25, 2014) Purpose for Women International has launched an Indigogo Crowd Funding campaign to support its many initiatives. The non-profit corporation was found by Heather L. Tapia in order to host International Women’s Day in Columbus, Ohio. International Women’s Day is a one hundred and three year old international holiday not officially recognized in the United States. Part of Purpose for Women International’s mission is to build awareness for this event in local cities across the nation in the hopes of it officially becoming a nationally recognized holiday.
In an effort to spread the mission and build awareness for International Women’s Day you will find the organization at the Celebrate Local Easton Farmer’s Market this Thursday June 26th, just one of the many stops along their INSPIRE 2015 campaign. Crowd Funding is a new unique way individuals, organization, artists and many others are sharing their passions for creativity, invention and community action with the world and enlisting their monetary support. The ‘Purpose for Women international 4 International Women’s Day’ Indiegogo campaign launched June 18th and will end July 20th. The benefit of crowd funding is the simplicity to reach across a broader groups of the population and encourage their financial support for a cause or project. Indigogo is just one of the platforms available. “As part of the services PWI provides to other non-profits, we offer consulting on crowd funding and event coordination. We want everyone to be in the ‘Winning Circle’.”
The seriousness of debilitating issues facing women locally in Columbus Ohio is increasing. “I have noticed a trend that with awareness and education comes prevention and solutions. On the other hand the impact on the problem seems actually less.”, states Heather. “We cannot rest and, in fact have to be more vigilant to the problems facing women, minorities and our children.”
“A call to action is now, Purpose for Women International has solutions in place to ignite discussions on domestic violence prevention, the signs of human trafficking and encouraging women to run for office. We must engage our young girls to their inner power and passions. That is our purpose as women and mothers. PWI needs your support today!”. Heather implores the women of Columbus to action and if they are in action now she asks they do not stop and take more by partnering with Purpose for Women International.
