Purphoros's Emissary is one of the newest "Theros" spoilers revealed today Sept. 3, 2013 from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set in an article on Mtg-Jp.com. Purphoros's Emissary is an uncommon enchantment creature that can have a deadly impact in limited games.
Purphoros's Emissary 3R
Enchantment Creature - Ox (Uncommon)
Bestow 6R (If you cast this card for its bestow cost, it's an Aura spell with enchant creature. It becomes a creature again if it's not attached to a creature.)
Purphoros's Emissary can't be blocked except by two or more creatures.
Enchanted creature gets +3/+3 and can't be blocked except by two or more creatures.
Purphoros's Emissary isn't the most glamorous red creature that we've seen, but it does make a difference. We've come a long way from Hill Giant, and Purphoros's Emissary is by far way more versatile, if still dumb (as an ox).
Purphoros's Emissary is a decent threat in limited in its own right, however it's when you bestow it onto another of your creatures that it can really make an impact. Although seven mana is a bit steep to give a creature +3/+3 and make it so that it has to be blocked by two or more creatures in the late game your opponent may not even be holding back with two creatures, allowing you to win your duel right then and there.
How will you use Purphoros's Emissary?
