'Purge' hoax: New message goes viral about staying inside due to killings

Ever since the new movie "The Purge: Anarchy" came out people have talked about what it would be like if one really happened. Of course it isn't happening, but a new viral message has people scared that it is going on now. This has been going like crazy all over social networks. On Friday, Inquistr shared about how this message got started and that the people who started it are sorry.

A high school student actually started it. They didn't mean any harm at all though. This person has not been named, but they were willing to speak out. The student said, "It was originally supposed to be just a fun thing, I never thought it’d get as serious as it did. I was really shocked the first time I saw local media covering it. The police came to my house yesterday. I told them I was just joking around. I was sitting in my house and watching ‘The Purge,’ and I thought of the tweet and picture that started it. But didn’t think it’d get that big from there. I didn’t mean any harm by this at all. I love my city."

It started in Kentucky and police in Louisville said people were worried. They spoke out saying, "A number of people have reached out to us. We’re going to take any threat that we receive seriously, particularly one that encourages and incites violence against our community. We’re going to take that seriously and investigate that as thoroughly as we can. As a department, I believe that we’re adequately prepared for anything that could arise." Police feel like they can handle anything that does come up.

At this time, there is nothing to be worried about. Parents make sure that your children know because this has been spreading all over social networks. You do not want them to be afraid for no reason at all.
