According to Wednesday's CBS Sacramento News, an injured Doberman puppy was recently discovered in Sacramento, Calif., and the shelter which is caring for her is hoping to find out who her owner is.
The five-month-old puppy, dubbed "Heidi," was taken to the Front Street Shelter on Sunday; both of her ears are horribly injured. The shelter went to Facebook for help in solving the mystery of what happened to her - on July 8 they wrote:

This baby Doberman arrived at our shelter on Sunday from El Camino and Del Paso Blvd in Sacramento. Do you know this dog? Does anyone have any information? She is currently in foster care being medically treated and not available for adoption at this time.

Gina Knapp, manager of the shelter facility, told CBS Sacramento what they believe happened to Heidi's ears:
We’re presuming it’s a crop job,”
That’s what it looks like according to our vet.”
“It’s not something you can do at home,”
“It’s against the law to practice veterinary medicine in your garage.”
The shelter is still hoping to find out who Heidi used to belong to. They are asking for anyone who has information to contact them via private message on Facebook, or to phone them at 916-808-5855 (anonymous tips welcome).
