Dewey is a 3 month old bernese mountain dog/golden retriever cross. He had an accident in the house and was disciplined by his owner so harshly, it caused a broken elbow. The owner opted for euthanasia over specialized corrective surgery.
Thankfully, Eleven Eleven Animal Rescue stepped in. They couldn't stand to see such an innocent, young dog lose his life through no fault of his own. They took Dewey in and made sure he got the surgery he needed. They will also make sure Dewey's new home is somewhere where positive reinforcement is the only form of discipline.
Dewey's surgery was a great success! And despite the cast, he is back to his rambunctious, loving self. See the video proof here. Now, the rescue organization is in the process of paying off that hefty surgery bill. To contribute to Dewey's bill, please click here.
Better yet - meet him in person and sign his cast! Eleven Eleven Animal Rescue will be holding a fundraiser this Sunday at Naturalanimal & Pawtisserie. It's a 5 dollar nail-trimming clinic for pets and all proceeds go to Dewey's surgery bill.
