The following article is part of an ongoing effort to help homeless dogs in and around Toronto/Hamilton area find suitable and loving homes. Sometimes, the need extends beyond that area. Currently, the need is great but the homes are few. Your help is desperately needed.
Loyal Rescue of Peterborough, Ontario would like to introduce Gloria, a spunky little Shih Tzu that acts much younger than her 8 years.
Despite coming from a horrible puppy mill in Ohio, rescue staff describes Gloria as a “friendly, very lovable” girl, who “radiates happiness.” She gets along well with other dogs, as well as cats and kids.
According to her foster mom, “She has a tail that just never stops; a little tongue that hangs out (just at the tip), the cutest little legs ever and a very soft coat.” She added that Gloria “won over the household within hours of joining us. When she gets excited, she does a little happy dance and then slides on the floor; it is extremely cute.”
Since being in her foster home, she has learned to go outside to do her business, although pee pads are still down for some of the other dogs and she will sometimes use them.
Her foster mom also noted that Gloria is “very eager to learn. She has gone out for a walk and did very well on the leash and was very pleased with herself. When she got back into the house, she did little zoomies all around the house. She just couldn’t contain her excitement anymore. To see her get so excited about going for a walk, you can tell that she is very eager to explore the world and everything that it has to offer her.”
She said the family who chooses to adopt Gloria would be “very lucky. You would have to have a heart of stone to not fall instantly in love with her. I can’t say enough about what a fantastic personality this girl has and what a great all-around dog she is.”
She is spayed and up-to-date on her routine shots. For more information or to adopt this dear girl, email info@loyalrescue.com and put ‘Pet Inquiry: Gloria 1427 PFId#25354941’ in the subject line. If you wish to adopt her, go to the website and fill in the online application.
If you would like more information on Gloria before you put an application in for her adoption you can contact her foster mom at: laurie.witty@yahoo.ca.
LOYAL Rescue has no shelter. Pets live in foster homes throughout Ontario and the United States where they are cared for until suitable homes can be found for them.
