On May 4, Roxxie, an eight-month-old pit bull mix, was brought to the New York Animal Care and Control facility in Manhattan.
Roxxie, who weighs in at just 24 pounds, was discovered in an abandoned apartment and then she was taken to the animal control facility. The following information has been shared by a volunteer about this adorable, snuggly pup:
Treat her well, her name is Roxxie." It was early and Miss Roxxie was still curled up in her kennel, a dark circle in a dark corridor. She saw me approach and her little tail wagged, once, twice, three times and I knew we had a date! She's a pocket pittie, a munchkin, a peanut, in a gleaming brindle coat, found in an abandoned apartment.
Brought to our care by someone who knows her, we're told that she's good with kids and all people, and gets along well with cats. She's a total love bug, curling in for cuddles, in my lap for hugs, and more interested in snuggling than playing with a toy or chasing a tennis ball.
Although she did both, her ultimate happiness was found with me in my lap for some petting. She's likely housetrained, taking care of her business as soon as we were out the door.
She has nice leash manners, looking up and wagging her tail at everyone that passed us, perhaps wondering if this person would be her new mommy or daddy.
Roxxie has done nothing to warrant being locked behind bars - she just needs a bit of help to walk free and live out her life with a loving guardian.
