Sunday may have many people anxious for the 2012 Super Bowl, but there's another big game garnering the attention of many Scottsdale residents. Puppy Bowl VIII takes place Sunday as well, and it looks like it will be a great game. The game airs on Animal Planet, channel 57 on Cox cable, beginning at 4:00 p.m. As Huffington Post noted on Saturday, the 2012 Puppy Bowl isn't just about an alternative to Super Bowl XLVI. The fun game features animals available for adoption, and this one isn't just for dog lovers. The show will also feature 20 kittens, a bird, some hamsters and five pigs.
The Animal Planet site has the starting lineup for the 2012 Puppy Bowl, and fans can get the lowdown in the Today Show video sneak peek on the left-hand side of the page. In addition to the cute pups, Meep the Bird will be tweeting at @meepthebird and the piggy pep squad will be cheering from the sidelines. Then of course there is the Kitty Halftime Show, so this is one show that has a high cuteness quotient from start to finish.
Tune in to Animal Planet Sunday afternoon to see all the pups compete for the Puppy Bowl VIII bragging rights. Then you can also go to Petfinder to learn more about the pets available for adoption. The 2012 Puppy Bowl begins at 4:00 p.m., airing on channel 57 in Scottsdale.
