It’s Super Bowl Sunday and Animal Planet will be hosting the 8th annual Puppy Bowl on February 5, 2012. Who do you favor to win?
Puppy Bowl VIII game time is 3:00 p.m., three and a half hours before the scheduled kickoff in Indianapolis, so you have plenty of time to get your puppy licks in before the Giants and Patriots go head to head. Columbus area TWC subscribers will find Animal Planet on channel 60, while DISH customers should tune in to channel 184.
Animal Planet first aired the Puppy Bowl in 2005 and its pup-ularity has increased each year since. Even non-football fans love watching puppies play, and Animal Planet does a great job of featuring some of the cutest diminutive canines around. The show supports adoption and animal rescue organizations and all puppies used for the show are shelter dogs, not from high-priced breeders or puppy mills.
Check out the starting lineup and bone up on player stats then pick your favorite. No matter who wins, the 2012 Puppy Bowl promises to be entertaining, complete with pigs as the pup-squad to cheer them on.
If you’re in the Columbus area and watching the game isn’t enough to feed your puppy-fix, consider visiting Pets Without Parents or the Franklin County Shelter to adopt a puppy of your own.
