Tustin, CA - If one were to look only at Daisy's gorgeous face, they would know nothing of the suffering that she has endured.
If one were to look only into her dark eyes, they would know nothing of the abuse which she survived.
Pan out to Daisy's body and her suffering becomes painfully evident.
Someone abused this puppy horribly.
According to Colleen McCammon, President of the Animal Assistance League of Orange County (aaloc), Daisy was discovered by a member of the Los Angeles Police Department in mid-January.
The five month-old Pit bull puppy had no identification. Her rescuer noticed some lesions on her body and she was taken to a veterinarian who prescribed some antibiotics for her.
Unfortunately, those few initial lesions held little warning for what was to come.
The lesions spread over most of Daisy's body.
She was taken in for care again - this time to the Animal Dermatology Clinic in Tustin. Biopsies revealed that she had third degree burns and a secondary infection.
The veterinary clinic reached out to AALOC to see if they could help Daisy's rescuer (and adopter) pay for her extensive veterinary expenses - estimated to be in excess of $4000.
AALOC is actively working to raise funds for Daisy as she fights to survive the horrific wounds to her body.
Without aggressive treatment, this gorgoues puppy would be dead.
As it stands, she is still at risk.
Her photos are difficult to view. Harder yet is the realization that someone intentionally did this to her.
Someone poured something over her beautiful, young body and turned her out onto the streets to die.
Anyone who has ever had even a minor burn knows the pain that accompanies it. The suffering this puppy has endured is unfathomable.
Anyone hoping to help AALOC and Daisy's owner pay for her ongoing veterinary care can do so by either paying at the AALOC website, or mailing funds to:

The only bright side to this painful story is that Daisy was found. Someone cared enough to take her to a veterinarian for treatment and she is in good hands as she fights this tremendous battle for her life.
Thanks to AALOC for working to raise funds for Daisy.
