The Children's Garden in Sarasota is hosting its annual fund-raising event to benefit the Sarasota Humane Society on February 8 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. This fund-raising event provides an afternoon of fun for children to experience the garden with all of its beautiful sections that are designed just for children to learn about plants and gardening and to give back to the community with donations to help the Humane Society care for Sarasota's animals.

Admission is free with donations to the Sarasota Humane Society. Requested items include wet and dry cat and dog food, clean blankets, toys, and treats. A monetary gift will also be appreciated to help with the Humane's spay-neuter program and vet bills that are always part of the animals' care that they receive from the organization.

Pet-themed games, face painting to create your own whiskers, and pet-themed crafts will all be part of the fun along with playing in the gardening areas. A special treat will be enjoyed by having the "Reading for Fun" dogs in attendance.

Come out and enjoy The Children's Garden and give back to your community's pets for this month of showing love. The Children's Garden is located at 1670 10th Way in Sarasota. You may log on at www.SarasotaChildrensGarden.com for more information about the gardens. You may also call 941-330-1711.
