Macon Animal Control is overflowing with puppies, from chihuahuas to pitbulls, very young to about 6 months old, the shelter needs homes for puppies.
Nearly 20 dogs and puppies will die Wednesday morning unless they are adopted or spoken for before 9:30 Wednesday morning.
If you aren't in the market for a puppy, the shelter has several wonderful adult and nearly-adult dogs available, too.
While a few dogs, like Berdy, have been at the shelter a long time and will require extra patience and extra kindness, they are all potentially great pets who just need a chance.
The adoption fee is $75, which includes spay or neuter surgery and a rabies shot.
Go down to the shelter between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to see the available dogs and puppies, and claim one for your very own. Call 751-9200 if you see a pet in the photo album you want to save. Time is of the essence. Once 10 a.m. rolls around, these dogs are out of time.
Macon Animal Control is at 1010 Eleventh Street, off Lower Poplar, behind the landfill weigh station. You do not have to be a Macon/Bibb County resident to adopt.
