Bring your furry best friend for a tail wagging good time to the first annual "Pup-a-Palooza" - a “diggin’dog day” party for canines and their two-legged friends on Saturday, March 2 at Newtown Dream Dog Park in Johns Creek. This event will begin at 10 a.m.
This free two-hour party event will feature live music, caricature sketches of people with their furry buddies and a variety of trained-dog demonstrations. There will be contests for the dogs with the best trick and the best dressed dogs.
There will be hotdogs, chips and water and giveaways while they last for two-legged attendees and doggies treats for the four-legged attendees. Vendors will also be at this event to promote pet care products and to educate dog owners about responsible pet care.
The dog park is located at 3150 Old Alabama Road in Newtown Park - directly across the street from Fire Station No. 63. The dog park is a one-acre fenced area that features artificial turf, sprinklers around a spraying hydrant, various other activities for the dogs, shade trees, benches, shelter, a water station for dogs and people and a walking trail.
According to the website, the dog park received a $500,000 facelift in 2011 compliments of the Beneful WagWorld Dream Dog Food contest won by Johns Creek resident Pat McNeely and his dog, "Koda." The redesigned dog park opened on June 15, 2011.
