I was just reading over the results of the PulteGroup Home Index, a poll of both homeowners and realtors across the nation that is designed to take the emotional temperature of those in the marketplace.
And what it found was encouraging. Specifically, the 2012 survey results reveal more positive opinions than in years past. Specifically, they showed that the draw to purchase a home is outstripping questionable economic indicators in the recent past.
Here are a few of the results:
- More than 60 percent of Baby Boomers who are still working say they will retire in less than a decade and, and nearly 75 percent say they are financially prepared to do so.
- Sixty-one percent of renters say they’re planning to buy a home within the next two years. Their top reasons for doing so include the desire to be able to call themselves homeowners as well as the yen for a good financial investment.
- Just 21 percent of homebuyers say they would move away from their family in order to buy their dream home.
