Pujols reportedly meeting with Marlins

The first suitor has come knocking on the door.

MLB.com reported Thursday that Albert Pujols will be meeting with the Marlins in the next few days.

The St. Louis Cardinals great has become a free agent for the first time this off-season.

The Marlins will be moving to a new stadium in Miami next season. Pujols is one of several free agents the Marlins are meeting with.

Pujols has said that he wants to remain a Cardinal for life, but he and the team have so far been unable to agree to a contract.

It is assumed the Cards will continue pursuing Pujols, but they are also in the midst of finding a new manager to replace Tony La Russa, who retired after the Cards won their 11th World Series last month.
