Puff Daddy, VooDoo Zip Line and Nicki Minaj make Memorial Day hot in Vegas

The latest big thing to hit the Strip, Fizz at Caesars Palace will host “Pop & Shop,” a champagne and shopping experience, from noon to 4 p.m. today. David Furnish's vision for a bar is something to see. His hubby Elton and he opened Fizz recently to much critical acclaim from those that imbibe and this holiday event is attracting fans for its fun and affordability. Each “Pop & Shop” package will include a signature Fizz champagne flute complete with endless refills, along with a Fizz gift bag containing special offers, discounts and samples from various retailers inside The Forum Shops at Caesars. Shoppers can feel free to fill up their glasses at Fizz before perusing the latest fashions, and are welcome to return for refills throughout their shopping sprees. Tomorrow, mixed martial arts announcer Bruce Buffer will host the much awaited grand opening of the VooDoo Zip Line at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino at noon. Buffer will yell his signature catchphrase, “It’s time!,” to announce the ride’s official opening before soaring 490 feet above the ground on Las Vegas’ newest attraction. Two riders take to the zip line, which connects the two towers of the Rio Las Vegas more than 490 feet above the ground. The feet-dangling, adrenaline rush attraction begins on the patio of VooDoo Steakhouse, located on the 50th floor of the Masquerade Tower, and propels riders at speeds up to 33 miles per hour to the adjoining 20-story Ipanema Tower. Guests make a return trip to the starting point traveling backwards at 20 miles per hour. Offering one of the best views of Las Vegas, VooDoo Zip Line boasts a 360-degree panorama of the Strip and scenic views of the surrounding mountain ranges. The heart-pumping adventure covers one-third of a mile in one minute and 10 seconds. VooDoo Zip Line is open to the public from noon to midnight Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to midnight Friday through Sunday.
