The culinary event that offers a unique opportunity to sample the best restaurants on the Island at special prices, Puerto Rico Restaurant Week (PRRW), is just around the corner. Gustavo Antonetti, event producer, recently announced that the third edition of Restaurant Week will be held on May 14 to 20, 2014.
High caliber restaurants around the Island will be offering prix-fixed dinner menus for $28 or $38, including choices of appetizers, entrees and desserts. For the first time, many of the participating restaurants will also offer prix-fixed lunch menus for $14 or $19. “Unlike other culinary events, Puerto Rico Restaurant Week provides an excellent opportunity to visit a different restaurant every day and receive a full experience for an exclusive price", said Antonetti.
PR Restaurant Week will feature about 40 restaurants around the Island. In keeping with the mission of the event, restaurants will continue with the initiative to promote sustainability by using local products whenever possible; thus supporting the agricultural industry and the local economy.
Another new feature this year is the partnership with the airline, JetBlue, which along with hotel memberships, help more tourists to visit the Island and discover the charm and high quality cuisine in Puerto Rico. This will bring up the economy during the low tourist season and support the continuing mission of PRRW to position the Island as a premier culinary destination.
To participate in Restaurant Week, all you have to do is make reservations, as space is limited. To make reservations is as simple as visiting the event page, Puerto Rico Restaurant Week, where all the participating restaurants and its menus are featured. Some renowned names can be found among the participating restaurants, such as, Casa Lola, Casita Miramar, Lemon Grass, Morton’s Steakhouse, Perla, Salt Gastrobar, Santaella, The Garden, Tras Patio, and Zest, among many others. The hard part is going to be which ones to choose during that week.
