Heyday Books is looking for submissions to what they hope will be an annual anthology that portrays the "Best of California."

In this endeavor, Heyday welcomes all genres that show aspects of California's identify including social customs, natural history, and the arts.

The Berkeley, California based Heyday Books aspires to deepen the awareness of California's rich cultural, natural, literary, and historic resources. Since 1974, Heyday Books has gathered well-deserved awards while developing a sense of community among their authors.

One of Heyday's many fascinating and well-researched books is Kevin Nelson's Wheels of Change. In Wheels of Change, Kevin Nelson offers historically factual information about automobiles and paints a descriptive picture of California's landscape and cities. Residents of Los Angeles will savor Kevin Nelson's descriptions of old Los Angeles at the end of the 19th century, including South San Pedro Street, Spring Street, and the hills of Elysian Park.

In looking for submisssions to "Best of California," Heyday is specifically searching out material that has been previously published in a magazine or literary journal.
