On Monday, May 31 Toronto Police issued a news release concerning three separate cases of food tampering involving Pillers Polish Sausage, Pillers kielbasa, and Pillars turkey kielbasa. After purchasing the items customers reported finding a needle embedded in a sausage.
Two more cases of similar food tampering, again associated with the Pillers brand, were reported yesterday the Toronto Police. The point of purchase in each case was identified as No Thrills and Price Choppers in the down town area.
The public is urged to check the packaging of all food products thoroughly for signs of tampering before consuming packaged items.
