The Irvine Nature Center's Youth Birding League holds its first session on Sep 12. The Chesapeake Bay Foundation is holding an oyster gardener workshop on Sep 13 at the Bullitt House in Easton. It will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Chesapeake Bay's oyster population has dropped to about 2% of its original level, so the CBF hopes to help rebuild it through oyster aquaculture. Participants would build cages to be hung from their dock or marina where they would keep the baby oysters. They would also learn how to care for the oysters and clean the cages.
