Balboa Park is home to many things.
Museums, theater, botanical gardens, dog parks, and art galleries are just a few that meet the top of the list. In addition to the fabulous attractions that stand at the forefront, the park is home to many hidden treasures. Visitors and locals both explore the park finding favorite spots to read, hidden benches to rest and reflect, small artistic details in the architecture that ignite imagination, special flowers that just bloomed, and a myriad of other secrets nestled into the beautiful park. One of these favorite escapes is Lady Carolyn's Pub located steps from the Old Globe Theater. This watering hole is tucked away near the entrance to the theater. This outdoor eatery and pub offers a selection of soups, sandwiches, salads and dessert. In addition to the hunger helpers, Lady Carolyn's Pub has a full bar to satisfy any thirst visitors may be experiencing. There is plenty of seating, allowing for quick refreshers or a relaxed meal.
Pub hours are in parallel with theater show times, with the pub opening an hour prior to each show through the last intermission of the day. Yes this pub is connected to the Old Globe Theater, but that doesn't limit its availability to the public. The pub is filled with theater-goers and park visitors alike. Many times local regulars can be found enjoying what Lady Carolyn has to offer.
